Lovely lovely layers...

It's a known fact that lingerie is underwear. Underwear is underwear is underwear. But I never thought of lingerie in terms of layers until I came across a lovely brand called The Lake and Stars.

This brand charmed me straightaway. Thoughtfully created by young US designers Nikki Dekker and Maayan Zilberman, this line cleverly mixes clean lines with classic shapes in silk chiffons, herringbone and arygle nets to create beautifully understated underwear.

I love that this brand is so refreshingly quiet. Quiet in a way that contrasts with say the loudness of say Deborah Marquit and Ravijour's lingerie.

I love the flowiness of this piece and those bottoms are cute! Sleeping in that would be bliss...

Now this piece featured above, Genius Romper by The Lake and Stars is absolutely stunning. It was first featured in Sex and the City movie and as you can see, is like no other lingerie piece around! Made from cotton, it has silk ribbon details on the front, has a comfortable elastic waist and elastic straps. To complete this cute little piece, there's a keyhole on the back! Very unusual but also very cute!
